The last quarter of 2016 saw British born-Nigerian artist Sona return to the scene on a massive track ‘Hurt Nobody’ in collaboration with rapper Sneakbo.
Now after a two-year hiatus, Sona releases his first single of the year, ‘Story’, produced by long time collaborator, Lexxy Flow. The song title lives up to its name as Sona sings in Yoruba-dialect welcoming listeners as he takes them through his journey thus far. Sona has come a long way since releasing his debut ’Summertime‘ in 2013, then resurfacing with a treble release in early 2014 with singles ‘Ijo Sona’, ‘No Wahala’ and ‘Eyy Mama’ garnering over 3 million streams collectively through YouTube & SoundCloud. Receiving massive airplay support from BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra as well as being recognised by BET, MTV Base and the MOBOs.
2017 is set to be an even more exciting year for Sona, as fans have been anticipating his return, with ‘Story’ being the first of many releases to come from the artist throughout the year.
